What is Iridology?

Iris analysis (Iridology) was founded in the late nineteenth century in Hungary and is now studied in many countries globally. The idea is based on information from the neuro-optic reflex which connects the layers of the iris with the nervous system, so when the nervous system is stimulated, the response over time, leaves visible markings on the iris. Therefore in practice, iridology involves analysing and interpreting the colour, markings and structure of the iris to gain information about a person’s health.

At Metabolism, iridology involves examination of the iris using a manual, hand held, iridology torch, as well as a photograph of the iris which will assist with tracking changes in the iris that may occur over time. The analysis is then used to assist with focusing on areas of health when designing a client’s Well-being Plan. It does not attempt to diagnose any specific disease or symptom and cannot predict future health.
